Terms of Use

Note: this is a starting draft, not legal advice. Have it reviewed before you rely on it, particularly the liability and subscription sections, which vary by jurisdiction.
Using the app
Papyrus is provided for you to scan, edit and export your own documents, or documents you are permitted to reproduce. You are responsible for the content you capture and for complying with the law where you are. That includes copyright and any rules covering identity documents and confidential records.
Your content
Your scans are yours. They are stored on your device and we make no claim to them. Because we never receive a copy, we cannot recover documents you delete or lose. Keeping your own backups is your responsibility.
Subscriptions
Some features may require a paid subscription. If so:
- Payment is taken by the App Store or Play Store, under their terms.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
- You can cancel at any time in your account settings; access continues to the end of the paid period.
- Refunds are handled by the store, not by us.
Availability and changes
The app is provided as it is, and features may change, be added or be removed between versions. We do not promise it will be free of defects or uninterrupted.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost documents, lost data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing here limits rights you have that cannot be limited by law.
